Obama Whitehouse Staffers Using GMail During Transition

posted 3 Feb 2009 01:57 by Sean McAndrew

Google received an unofficial endorsement from the Obama Whitehouse this morning as it was reported on the Today show that Whitehouse staffers have not yet been issued @whitehouse.gov email addresses and have been using Google GMail during the transition to manage their email accounts.

During the transition, these staffers have lost the email addresses of their previous jobs and positions, and have settled on GMail in the interim.

Blackberry has received a huge unofficial endorsement from President Elect Obama, who can be seen texting and checking up on information on his Blackberry while constantly on the move, and GMail just got a similar plug by the Obama team. If GMail is secure enough for the Whitehouse Elect to use before taking over Pennsylvania Ave. this afternoon, then it should be secure enough for businesses and average people to take full advantage of.
